A photo exhibition titled "Discover Javakhk" was opened
From today until November 10, you will find a small Javakhkian corner in the center of Yerevan with its unique colors, aroma and traditions. A photo exhibition entitled “Discovering Javakhk” was opened today in the AGBU Armenia hall located at 2/2 Melik Adamyan Street, where the photographs representing the landscapes and colors of Javakhk by the participants of the photo campaign of the same name are displayed. It should be noted that the “Support for Javakhk” foundation, in cooperation with the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, the National Association of Armenian Photographers and the Armenian General Benevolent Union, organized a three-day photography campaign entitled “Discover Javakhk” on August 27-29.
The participants of the project, Armenian and Georgian photographers from Armenia and Georgia, spent three days in different regions, villages and cities of Javakhk, got acquainted with the life and manners of rural settlements and, of course, photographed everything that surprised, admired and impressed them. Sos Sahakyan, the chairman of JAH’s board of trustees, noted that JAH has a large set of cultural programs, and this photo exhibition and the photo campaign that preceded it were among them. to work and more effectively implement various projects in Javakhk. And this exhibition is very important in the sense of presenting different spheres of Javakhk’s life.
Here you will see the warrior’s view, work, faith and church, home and the natural world. RA KGSMS Deputy Minister Arayik Khzmalyan said after touring the hall that he liked the photos that reflect the Javakhkian lifestyle, where there are human faces, smiles, reality, family, hearth. “It is a great honor to cooperate with JAH, because what the foundation does in Javakh, it does at the highest level and with cultural standards. Recently, I was also present at the opening of Vahan Teryan’s restored showroom and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by the taste, consistency, professional approach and the effort made. JAH dictates high taste, high standards, and I am sure that in the future we will cooperate even more closely within the framework of various programs.”
At the opening of the exhibition, the president of the Association of Armenian Photographers, Sergey Hakobyan, who shared his experience and knowledge with the participants during the photo campaign, noted that Javakhk was fascinated by its landscapes, people, their adherence to traditions and faith, and mysterious and beautiful places, which are inexhaustible. “It was very difficult to single out the photos that have something to say and will tell the viewer something about the day and life of Javakhk.”
JAH Executive Director Samvel Mkoyan also mentioned that the goal of the “Discover Javakhk” campaign was to discover Javakhk, because very few people are familiar with the region, its lifestyle and traditions. And the region is very rich both in its nature, traditions and customs, and people. Naturally, a very small part is represented here, but we tried to be in some villages and cities within three days”, said Mr. Mkoyan.
During the event, the participants of the photo campaign were given certificates and the experts were given certificates of appreciation. Let’s remind that the exhibition titled “Discover Javakhk” will be open in the AGBU hall until November 10.
